The project (design: Brod Wight Architects) involved a rear extension and complete refurbishment of the property, all in close proximity to trees. The rear extension featured footings extremely close to a retained beech tree standing in London Borough of Camden’s Redington Frognal Conservation Area.
This project featured close co-operation with Cape Construction’s Stephen McCabe, and there was fruitful liaison on detailed design of underfloor root respiration facilitators. John Cromar also liaised with garden designer Bunny Guinness, well-known from BBC Radio 4’s Gardeners’ Question Time, to ensure proposed hard landscape protected all retained trees.
